W.C.G.N HISTORY Windy City Gay Naturists was originally founded in September 1989 by Earl W. It was merged into the Midwest Men’s Center of Chicago (MMC) umbrella group and reorganized by Earl and his business partner Mark J. in September 1992, with a small group of men who decided to host naked parties and events on a monthly basis. Over the next several years, the group has grown in size and members. Its first events were limited to house parties and nude swimming. Later it added bowling, weekend getaways and dinners at local restaurants. “As membership increased, we found members willing to travel 25 or more miles to attend an event,” states Earl. So the activities slowly began to increase in location. No longer was the club’s events limited to the city. In late 2002, the Jane Addams Community Center closed. It was a multi-purpose social service center and contained the swimming pool where WCGN swam for over seven years. With our ever changing society, the tradition of swimming nude also came to a close. Thus far, the club has been unable to locate another pool within the city. Its board continues to be ever hopeful that someone will come forward and offer their condo pool or let us know of a private pool available. The club continues to look for different kinds of events to afford it an opportunity to be NAKED together in a safe, supportive environment. On average 5-6 activities are offered every month. “We hope to remain an organization where we get to know one another and share the closeness that sometimes gets lost in larger organizations,” states Mark. All members and guests must be over 21 years of age. Guests are allowed to attend up to three times. Membership is then required to continue attending. All potential members are thoroughly interviewed. Membership fees are: $35 first year singles; $60 couples residing at same address $25 renewal fee singles; $45 couples Our fiscal year is Jan 01 – Dec 31 and membership dues are prorated.
